The Astrology of Tarot [Live Course]
The Astrology of Tarot [Live Course]
Have you seen Taurus in the Hierophant, or maybe Mars in the Tower?
What about the Sun and Scorpio in the 6 of Cups?
It’s no secret that the divinatory power of astrology infuses most tarot decks. From learning the explicit mappings of signs and planets to help you understand your natal archetypes to predicting windows of time and understanding the subtle influences of the stars through the minors, there’s a lot to be gained by marrying tarot and astrology in practice, as well as theory.
Over five 60-minute group sessions (on Zoom), we’ll explore the mapping of astrological signs, planets, and decans (10º segments of the zodiac) onto the cards of the tarot and practice using these correspondences to valuable effect. It’s one thing to know the mappings and another to use them effectively.
Supplemental exercises to complete between sessions help ground what you’ve learned in personal practice.
Some basic familiarity with astrology is necessary, but I will provide resources for getting up to speed for our class purposes if it’s not something you’ve studied before.
Note. The content of this course will be new. I cover some astrology for the court cards in Awaken the Court Cards and reframing the Hard Cards of Tarot through astrology, but there is minimal overlap.
Recordings of each course session will be available to stream until the start of the next session (e.g., February 13’s session on Rereading the Major Signs & Planets would be available to stream until March 12).
The course includes complimentary access to office hours and Saturday seminars for the enrolled semester. Office hours are optional and open, free-ranging discussion times with me. There is no agenda, and it’s a time for students dig into their own questions about the class content, tarot and divination, their readings, new spreads, or whatever else comes up.
Note. This course is included in the Semester Class Pass.
