DIVE DEEP INTO THE SUIT OF PentaCoins

WHAT DO THE Pentacles (coins or Disks) MEAN IN TAROT?

Pentacles are metal disks of magical protection. In other deck traditions, this suit may be Coins or Disks, and those attributes carry into the Pentacles, but the decision to engrave a five-pointed star on those metal disks carries more than stylistic embellishment. It’s a reminder to balance the material world with spirit. So while the Pentacles are associated with earth and materialism—wealth and health—they are not only coins.

Like the rock of elemental earth, PentaCoins protect, and like soil, they allow for establishing roots and for growth. But let matter take over, and body and soul can become weighed down.

This is an ongoing series. Every other week on Instagram and Tumblr, I post a series of Deep Dive images tied to one minor arcanum. I’ve completed the aces and pips, so it’s just the court cards that are left. The court cards are not all here yet, but I know that you’ll learn a lot about the PentaCoins if you read on! And if you’re looking to read tarot more deeply like me, learn to read tarot deeply with my courses that go beyond the tarot basics.
